Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish…AND…
This week’s topic is: Top Five New-To-Me Authors I Read For The First Time In 2016!
- Richelle Mead – I picked up her Vampire Academy series and LOVED it so much! I can’t wait to read her Bloodlines series as well.
- Leigh Bardugo – Talk about queeeeeeen of fantasy. I’ve read her Grisha Trilogy and am SO pumped & excited to read her Six of Crows duology.
- Ryan Graudin – One of the BEST writers I’ve ever read. I will read anything she releases honestly. I’ve read her Wolf by Wolf duology and can’t wait to get to The Walled City!
- Ruta Sepetys: I’ve read Salt to the Sea by her and wow. Such a beautiful and heart felt story. She writes about historical tragedies that don’t get enough attention and you know what? I AM HERE TO READ THEM.
- Nicola Yoon: I’ve recently read The Sun is Also a Star. GREAT read. Her writing is poetic and she has such a beautiful & romantic story to share. And I am so down for them.
Love your picks! So glad you were able to read Leigh Bardugo and Nicole Yoon’s books this year. They are two of my favorite YA authors and I would basically read a cereal box, if they wrote on it, LOL 🙂

I’m still recovering from Blood for Blood. I just can’t accept a certain character’s fate. It makes my heart hurt. Salt to the Sea was another new to me book this year and I can’t wait to devour more of Ruta’s books.

Yes! Both the endings to those books hurt to read. Gosh darn historical fiction novels and their heart bending endings…

I loved Salt to the Sea by Ruta. I have heard great things about her first book, Shades of Grey. I loved the Graudin books but haven’t read The Walled City yet. And don’t get me started on Nicola Yoon! She is two for two. Her books are amazing.

I loooove Ruta Sepetys. She’s one of my absolute favorite authors. I’ve read all three of her books now and have absolutely loved each one! I included Nicola Yoon on my list this week too. I loved Everything, Everything (well… except for the ending haha) and can’t wait to read The Sun Is Also a Star! Graudin and Bardugo are both on my TBR – hopefully I get to them soon!
